Seems I got hit by both 'Discussion'

Oh Friday, I can’t wait for you … and to leave ELC. Another issue today and thanks to the US team for giving confusion to users here and last min request. Ended up I was being pressured from APAC and being push back from US side.

I have been self motivated for the past few days to convince myself to stay any longer and relocate back to KL but … I don’t think I will do it. Anyway, I just got a call from AZ’s agent that my application is very bright and they should take me in but the client will need to finalize with UK side. I told the agent that I also just got confirmation from GSK that I’m been offered the position as well. So I think job for me isn’t a problem when I leave SG in June/July.

When the project Go Live is near, my days are getting worst and the more I feel to leave. Can’t imagine how can I survive for another 2 months here … If not because of $$$, I really want to leave now

Better tomorrow?

Ok, take a deep breath ... today is the 2nd day and let's keep up the momentum and don't let it fall. Once fall, then it will be tough. This is what I keep thinking in my mind throughout first half of the day. Tried my best to share ideas and brief some background for some tickets and also to follow up with business about user request process after Go Live. In fact, I don't have to do this because the US team should make a formal communication to all regions but I don't see anything so far and it's about to Go Live.

Since this is going to be my problem during Go Live (as people will say no communication, you also didn't explain to us, blah blah blah), so I took the initiative to create a SharePoint folder to keep track the requests and let everyone update in the central repository rather than sending tonnes of emails and few version of request which end up with confusion or version conflict.

About lunch, lunch out with my 'sister' and colleague from KL ... McD it seems :)
Without any hesitation, I agreed and join them because I never had McD for lunch since I'm here in SG. I tried their Big Mac set and with McShaker as well ... I've got the Honey Chipotle flavour. Taste like BBQ but with Honey... still ok la. Whole set with upsize only cost S$5.50. Duan bought Happy Meal (yes, adult taking kids meal) because she want to control her diet and gave me the toy as she knew I have kids. So kind of her ...

Had a nice long chat with them and that really comfort me a bit (release some work tension). When back to office, new issues/surprises awaits for me and again I need to try my best to settle that myself. I need to make some changes to the system but it was great to know that I still don't have the access to do so!!!! I already brought this up so many times and the Go Live is near. How can you support without having the access? Some more I'm the person who govern the access into the system ... what a joke! Can't they use their brain to think? Now is cutover period and all fixes, access request will be done in Production. If someone hit serious issue in the morning and I don't have access, then the US/UK team still sleeping ... then how?!?!?!? Luckily I have some different approach to settle it but some still stuck up due to insufficient access. To US team, it's good to be stringent but how about me at APAC? When I have problem, who will wake up in the night or mid-night to help me?

That's not all, the manager actually called off today TC at 7:30pm because we will have another session at 8pm. But since 8pm meeting is more to hypercare discussion, I purposely call him to get advise on some APAC issue, with hope. Once I explain to him, his mouth said yes, I will help you, blah blah blah but from his heart, I can sense "why you bring out now? talk during later meeting la. also be quick as I'm in rush". Maybe I'm over sensitive then I hang up and attend the 2nd meeting at 8pm. During the call, they were discussing about support/task during Go Live. Again, I brought up few questions which potentially or already asked by APAC users.

And again, they gave me a whole bunch of crappy excuses and say I took up too much responsibilities and should follow procedures, blah x 3 until I really fed up and just say Yes or keep quiet after that. Why do they have to be so silo? Can't they open their ears and try to understand from customer or APAC perspective? Are they trying to do something just to get it over Go Live and whatever issues settle later? I keep asking ig we will have formal communication, related information, etc and they always will said yes but later nothing. I even notice there were a nomination of Point of Contact for hypercare and I WASN'T IN THE LOOP!!!! Then when they tai chi to me, then only I know I was dragged into the toilet bowl. Tomorrow I will have to clarify with them and keep myself out of this sh*t.

The manager already knew some of my problems but he act stupid during the call, which really disappointed me and I really felt demotivated and feel to give up. I guess I will not stay after June if they keep doing this and no sign of improvement. Because of I respect the meeting, I stay at office until 9:40pm but end up with crappy answers. I throw my question to the floor and end up I'm the one need to follow up and everyone is so busy. While I'm writing this, I really hate to recall the whole thing again but I have no choice but to do so because I want to note it here and sometime, someday I will re-visit this page again as reference or memoir.

While I was walking home, I really feel to buy back KFC and eat at room, just like usual ... enjoying my dinner while watching PPS and at the same time Skype with family but ...

This is what I've got and I will never able to have KFC for dinner for sometime ... What a day!

New week, new hope!

Train was punctual this time, manage to reach office around 8:30am. Since I have had discussion with US team and HR, it seems my mood and work motivation increased. I started to feel less worries as my manager seems realised my problem and started to appreciate the emails/work that I've contributed to the team. I hope this kind of changes will either become better or at least remain as it is.

I heard the 7th floor conference room is installing a smart board, something like iPad for whiteboard. It's a cool technology which I've heard for ages and now I can finally try it for myself.

It suppose to be ready after lunch but that's not the case, so I have to give for this round because I still have lot of things to catch, since I only work half day yesterday. I would say it was a very productive day for me, not only I clear all of my emails and urgent tasks but I also manage to clear 50% of the production tickets, apart from my project work. I guess this is normal when you feel free and with hope.

Towards the end of the day, as usual I attended the night TC with 5 updates. During the call, I update them the status for APAC, point by point and raise my concern and question but the feedback that I've got looks like revert back to original. I felt I was talking too much and some of the points just went in and out from their ears. When I asked the question that hindered me from my daily work, they said will get back to me, email by tonight and gave me a lot of crappy explanation that sound like I'm too helpful and concern too much about administrative tasks.

Instead of giving them 5 points, I only gave 3 and that's it ... I closed my updates. I have tried my best to help the  general questions from the team, even I'm not quite sure and struggle myself over APAC issues when the US team can't get back to me on time. Some of the members hardly read or reply email, reason being they have too many things on their plate. Come on, everyone also busy and I can understand if you take a day or two to reply but they only reply 2 out of 5! I don't mind if they answer 3 or 4 but at least try your best to back me up as I'm alone in APAC.

It's ok, today at least I did my job well and done whatever I could. Let's try tomorrow with another new hope!

Super Pack Schedule

Woke up at 6am this morning and started to prepare the kids to school. Violet as usual will require few reminders and Kai Meng need to keep talking and make him milk in order to help him gain conscious. About 6:40am, I finally get to drive them to school and office after half a year ... Time flies man

About 7:30am, settled kids and went to mamak at Pudu. Surprisingly the boss and worker still remember me and had some short chat with them then off to send Shireen to office. After that, I manage to cut thru all jams and reach home around 9am, just nice to start work. Luckily I cleared most of my emails lasyt night so today I just need to focus to clear the tasks/assignment.

About 12:15pm, start to prepare the doc and packup my stuff as I need to hit the first 'discussion' with AZ near Ikea. During the journey, I keep monitor my BB just in case there is any urgent request as I'm suppose to work from home today. To me, I just want to get things done, simple and high impact conversation then complete the exam. Can't spend too much time on 'discussion' as I still need to work with ELC as usual. I was given 30 mins for a case study but it just took me 10 mins to complete and present to AZ. Not tough because I went thru the case study before ;)

About 3:10pm, off to go for 2nd 'discussion' at GSK near Tropicana. And again I carry the same motto, understand the discussion, hit the questions, fulfill the exam then go off :) For this round, it was different because GSK did it all the way from UK via high end VC tool, not those webcam thingy. It was a fun chat and I believe I've satisfied with all their questions and jokes ;) Should be a fun team to work with. One of my questions posted to them was "will you outsource the team in the near future" and surprisingly the quickly answered me "No" withouit any hesitation because they always believe and trust their assets (staff) and doesn't see the value of outsourcing. This is the first and last company said this to me, so far ... Will see how thing goes ...

About 5:15pm, I finally finished and quickly rush to fetch Shireen from office. Since she was having meeting at that time so I take the opportunity to clear my emails/works and act as if I've worked for whole day :p kekeke

Close to 6:30pm, we finally depart to Pudu, my final destination for dinner and bid my kids good bye. Maybe Kai Meng still half asleep, he cried a bit when I really leave Pudu and as usual I do feel sad within my heart too but I'm sure things will be better when I'm at KL Sentral later. About 8:20pm, I finally need to go back home and prepare myself for the journey back to SG ... with heavy hearted feelings.

Will see how my plan goes with ELC and hope it will be a win win situation soon. I reach KL Sentral around 10:20pm and surprised to know the train can be board at 10:30pm! Can't remember when they arrive so early but hope it can arrive at SG early as well. Train started a while ago, conductor endorsed my ticket, felt sleepy and tired and guess I should pen down and get sufficient rest as tomorrow will be a long, tough and hard day :(

Nite ...

A visit to memory lane

The Mall, it was once a very popular, classy and trendy mall back in 80s but everything seems washed away along the time. The thing that I like the most was their amusement park where it has the first pirate ship, ghost house and other exciting and thrilling rides. That time, it can consider the best amusement park in town ... even Genting Highlands also doesn't have those rides yet.

I can still remember some of my early dates at the amusement park as well ;) Also my first personal business deal was there too :) and also my days in PC Fair :)

Another thing that I like was their Medan Hang Tuah, it was designed based on historic houses in Melaka but mostly used by offices and food court. The crowd there seems very bad and mostly not open or visit by those people work around there. Not sure how long it will last but hope some miracle will happen in order to prolong this place.

Rear view
Super Monkey!
China brand Lego which only cost RM28. Quality is almost identical to Lego too

Pricey Pancake Breakfast

I suppose to bring Kai Meng to have pancake at McD as they have a great family deal lately but when we arrive there, it was super pack because I totally forgot they recently give 2 breakfast sets for free when you do a single purchase RM5 or more. Without not much choice so I've proceed to Mid Valley because I need to change some currency and try our luck with McD within MVM.

Too bad, it was same fate but Kai Meng seems really craving for that. Since it's about brunch timing, so I have brought the family to have breakfast at Paddington Pancakes. I know it's not cheap but since we hardly have this and to fulfill Kai Meng's request then go ahead lor. The bill wasn't too pricey but for sure far more expensive than McD. Ordered quite a bit of dishes and we manage to finish it ... worth the money :)

Pancake with bacon
Mushroom and carrot soup
Pumpkin and carrot soup
Pancake with mixed fruits fondue
Continental pancakes
Since my Starhub USB modem has been sold off and I've extended my stay in SG, so I have to get myself a MiFi (pocket wifi router) so that I can used by corporate BB sim when I'm in SG and my personal Celcom BB sim when I'm in KL. Save the bucks in long run.

Suppose to get the Huawei E5 but after some surveys, ended up with D-Link DIR-457U which has good ratings and performance over Huawei. Of course price a bit higher but tested ok and quite stable, even in the car ;)

Friday 25 March 2011

Front seat for Aeroline

Due to my late booking and their Friday tickets always sell like hot cakes, this round, I have no choice but to take the first seat of this double decker. It gives me a creepy feeling because I basically share the same driving view with the driver.

The foot rest space is so small but luckily still got the power socket
Driver's view ... just a bit higher :)
During the journey, I can see and observe the driver's attitude but sometimes I just can't help myself to forget what if there is accident because I believe the impact will be great, or even throw out of the window. Luckily this is Aeroline so I'm less worry but still, I did buckled up just in case ...

During the SG checkpoint, everything seems good and smooth ... partly because I'm taking earlier coach but things went terribly wrong when approaching MY checkpoint because it was super duper pack, jam and totally went hare wire. It used to be faster and smoother than SG checkpoint but today it's really bad.

You can imagine how bad it was when you can't really queue inside the building. Even if your queue were in the building, the condition is so bad that the immigration officer has to stop validate passport because those validated still stuck at the front desk and couldn't move any forward. This whole process took me almost 30 mins where normally is 5-10 mins! When I can finally reach the end of the queue, guess what? They wanted to scan all luggages, be it small, medium or large but everything will be handle by ONE XRAY SCANNER!!!!!

Yes, you heard me right ... one but there are 10+ buses which could easy carrying couple of hundred passengers. I can understand they want to be strict and efficient but they must have BRAIN as well. Either you should increase the officers and scanners otherwise how can you handle such flow? In addition, it's Friday and most M'sian will go home and foreigners will visit MY, this is excluding those wanted to go into SG because it will still pass thru the same checkpoint. Really respect their babilicious yet 'kaputness' of their strategic planning.

When all that was over, I finally can rest down and enjoy my dinner ... for the 2nd time, Chicken Rice Shop :)

Thursday 24 March 2011

Finally I remember to buy toiletries

It's been weeks that I keep forget to buy back toiletries because it's far more cheaper in SG compare to KL, even after conversion. Like below, I bought :-

  1. 3 bottles of hair shampoo at S$4.90 x 3 = S$14.70 (if buy in MY, it will be S$7.90 x 3 = S$23.70)
  2. 2 tooth paste & free 1 medium tooth paste = S$5.60 (MY will be S$6.50 without free tooth paste)
  3. Oral B high end model tooth brush x 2 pcs = S$5.50 (MY will be S$6.80)
Some only cheaper by a bit but some is quite a lot too. In long run, will help to reduce household expenses right? Since I'm traveling every weekend too.

About tea break, I went to collect some water and so surprise that I finally entitle for the free mouse given by SMI (SAP Team). In fact, this has been launch over a month and most of the SAP team or users got one except me. I don't really want the mouse but it seems I always gets left behind. This is something that I don't like.

Not sure if this is the left overs or they know that I have recently conducted some training and then only give me one. Either way, I have chuck the mouse into my hardly-use-cabinet and didn't plan to use it. Not to show off but I really have sufficient mouse for now ... maybe later?

Start with headache then into complex discussion

It's been a while since I have headache when woke up this morning. I know that today will be a tough day, not because I will have to go thru the whole hard day but to force myself to forget about the pain. As usual, I don't want to rely on medication so I prefer to let it subside by itself. This seems like my tired-o-meter, when this come mean I need more rest or less stress (or maybe less $$$ yoo :p)

During lunch time, went lunch with GIS director for APAC and she was so keen to keep me in ELC. I really like her to be my boss not only she is caring (like mother) but also a good & experienced leader. Too bad as most of the openings that she has doesn't interest me or bring any good to my resume, also I don't want to have conflict of interest with my current boss in US. So even after lunch, we couldn't conclude anything and she said will come back to me. At that time, I think to myself I should just leave and don't add more issues for her because she is a very workaholic person ... you can see her ID always online in OC be it evening/night or even weekends.

About 4:30pm, I have another meeting with HR Director, I thought this would be my offical HR exit procedures but it's more like a friendly/colleague chat. She is also another person that really care about me too ... maybe this is normal role for HR to be 'caring' so that they will get more information out of the resignee but before this, she always have the answer for me whenever I'm in doubt.

As expected, she also try to advise and brainstorm me about work difficulties. She gave few examples and advise what I should do at this point. In fact, she even prepared all information to me if :-

  1. I were to confirm my resignation and leave the company at mid Apr
  2. Relocate me back to KL in permanent basis, of course package will be revise too
  3. Work till end June, get the pro-rated bonus then consider to leave or stay
As there were just too many information given to me within a day by 2 different person, I really need sometime to digest and discuss with my family because all this not only about myself plus the headache virus keep silently torturing me. Will home early today, settle my evening TC then relax myself. Hopefully I can firm my decision by tomorrow and get back to all parties accordingly.

Tuesday 22 March 2011

Finally the last training to be given ... for now

Since last week, I have been actively engaged with HR and respective APAC affiliates to conduct Point Of Contact (POC) and Entity Process Business Owner (EBPO). As always, my module always the last one to be notice but the first one to contact whenever user/project team unable to access any of the function. Like this topic, it wasn't being focus at the beginning but when come toward Go Live, everyone then rush and pay attention to it. The main reason is without this piece of information, they will have problem to get SAP access to their existing/new users.

Because of this kind of attitude, I will have to go thru all APAC sites within 2 weeks. Instead of having one big session, I will have to split it into few sessions ... by countries because it's not easy to gather everyone and some of them still involve in testing as well. In addition, I will have to invite my US colleague from Financial Compliance team to conduct Segregation of Duties (SoD) over Live Meeting. Really a lot of hassle and coordination need to be done but luckily I have a good HR team assisting me on this. Kudos to them!

Another phuck-up KTM journey

While I was enjoying my sleep in train, I can feel the train stop quite a while at a station. Based on my experience, I should be at Gemas, Johor at this hour. Without thinking much, I continue to sleep and after sometime, I woke up and found that the train still there! Now I feel something unusual because normally the max they stop by Gemas would be 15 mins (except train break down or technical fix). Intermittently, I keep sleeping and waking up and still found the train still there. I guess, after 2.5 hours later, the train finally move but it's already 6+am and just left Gemas. Normally at this hour, the train should have reach JB Sentral. Sh*t I think to myself.

When the train finally reached JB, it's already 8:30am! The God seems fooling me because during weekend, I suppose to have a call with my US manager about weekend tasks but the meeting gone with the wind and they seems ignored me. Today, I plan to go early to office to clear the pending tasks and today also first day of official cut over activities. So, I can foresee high number of tasks to be perform and also I remember I will have to unlock all users at 9am! Without any hesitation, I quickly email to my manager to ask him to back me up as I will reach office ... very late! I really feel so bad that I should really leave the company ... sigh!

By the time I reached office, it's already 10:40am ... without wasting any more time, I quickly clear the emails and try to clear as much enquiry and support tickets. Was thinking to leave office on the dot and take the night TC at home but just too many things to do so have to stay at office and take the call. Finished about 8:10pm but have to attend a training at 8:30pm :(

Thought it can finish around 9:30pm but only ended until 10:15pm ... What a tough day for first day of the week, not to mention I just travel back from KL by train. Quickly go home, buy KFC, Skype and watch PPS movie. I know it's boring but I need some private time for myself. Tomorrow will need to conduct training again .... how I wish I can stop working now :p

Sunday 20 March 2011

Flooding Sunday

Had brunch with dad and uncle at MinMax and when we're about to leave, Kai Meng wanted to visit my uncle's place because he likes to play with his cousin. Since he seldom request so I allowed him (though I prefer him to stay with me because I will be leaving soon). Since Shireen need to compensate the Coffee Bean treat to Violet, so I brought them to the branch near Ampang Point. It was so cozy, less people and nice tea break with the family. We had laugh and numerous chat, partly because Kai Meng wasn't around to bug us or fight with sister :)

After a while, it was raining and the environment become more breeze and really wanted to sleep there but it was running late as it's already 4pm. I need to be home so that they can start packing up and get ready to go back Pudu later. Also Kai Meng should be coming back home soon so better be home before my uncle arrive.

While driving, the rain become more heavy and the visibility start to degrade. Walk passed some flyover and saw massive jam all around towns, some car broke down due to water level too high and some of the main road were closed by mother nature, forcing everyone to detour every possible way in town. At that moment, I suddenly think and imagine what if KL suffer the same disaster like Japan? I guess not only the town will be sweep away by sea water but the poor (corrupted) 'gawenmen' will not be able to sustain economy damage caused by similar disaster. They might end up try alternate way to dig peasants' pocket in order to cover their colonials interest.

Luckily I manage to drive home within half an hour, passing through small roads and shortcuts in town. Better get some rest and hopefully tonight's train will be punctual and a smooth one :)

Saturday 19 March 2011

Another steamboat dinner :)

Yes! Tonight we will be organising another steamboat session! Finally, after so long and this round, I went to buy my own induction cooker instead of convention hotpot because this can serve more purpose such as backup cooker in case my gas is empty or even bring it along during family trip :)

Went to Jusco for some survey but they don't have much  choice and price wise isn't that attractive. So ended up the kids had their fun at amusement park. While they were playing, I can't imagine they have grown a lot since my last conscious where they were still small kids :S

After that, went to Carrefour and managed to get one at RM179. Tested  it and it has wide range of heat level and max up to 2000w (most of the induction cooker's limit only until 1800W and less heat level).

About 9pm, it's time for us to enjoy our steamboat. So happen there is a new TV programme and the family wanted to watch while having it, so I have no choice but to return the TV back to its original location and temporary moved my dining table right in front of my living room :(

Let's whack them all!
Portion not much but just nice for a small family :)
Kai Meng's special baby chair
The session was great but the work after the dinner is taxing too. Clean up the pot and dining table, restore to its location, pack and throw the rubbish, wash the cutlery, etc ... I did thought to eat out next time but I like it and find it worthwhile. Quality time mah :)

Friday 18 March 2011

Crazy Japanese Glutton

While I was having my lunch breakfast, I saw the patron that sat opposite me was a glutton! he oredered two bowlful of Yong Tau Foo. First bowl contain at least 8-10 pcs of solid boil egg (he even eat the yoke) and another bowl with bean curd, vegetables and some fish paste. What the ... such a big eater and so healthy. You must be wondering how that Japanese look like ... you will surprise to see him below :O

By the time I leave, she still haven't finish half bowl and I wonder how long he need to finish all his food :S

About 6pm, I force myself to leave office, by crook or hook because I don't feel to work any longer and need to catch StarMart (again). Since need to take interchange and dinner first, I really can't afford to be late again. This time, it's a single deck coach but with massage chair .... cool ;)

The coach condition is consider ok but the massage motor seems weak, guess wear and tear mah. Today, I'm not sure what's wrong because the checkpoint was super pack especially Malaysia checkpoint because the building filled with people and queue was extended until outside of the building. MY Boleh again! All officers seems taking their sweet time and no one even both to do ramdom check on luggages, not even being x-ray or K9 officers.

By the time we were done with immigration, it's already 9:10pm and I think to myself that I will only reach KL at least 1am but the driver speed like mad and we manage to reach KL around 12:30am. I'm quite happy with that but all passengers life were at stake. What if .... forget it. Just home as soonest then start to enjoy my weekend :)

P/S: Hopefully no more StarMart :)

Thursday 17 March 2011

Finally I clicked the 'Send' button

My consideration, toleration and patience have been tested to the fullest and it's time for me to make another crucial decision ... to leave ELC!

After weeks of deep thought and brain storming, it seems I couldn't convince myself anymore. Also this is the first time I dare to quit before securing a job! This is another challenging decision for a married man with kids.

Maybe I shouldn't count my bad experience at here and just blame myself for unable to blend into their culture. Short and simple like that.

I did post the header of this blog at FB and most of them seems knowing what I just did :)

Not long after I sent that email, my team director called me for some clarification. Being professional, I just told her that I need to spend more time with family and tired to travel at every weekends. She told me that she will come back to me and try to relocate me back to MY, which I'm not so keen. Let's see what she can do ...

Wednesday 16 March 2011

Welcome back with 951 emails

I know day 1 back from holiday normally bitter and tough but this time, ever first time, I was welcomed by 951 emails first thing in the morning. This is excluding the enquiry and tasks from my fellow colleagues. Though most of them is either notification, general enquiry and CC but still I need to vet thru and understand what's happening :(

With my fatest pace, multi-tasking, 15 mins lunch break and hardly drink any water, I only manage to clear all of them around 4pm. Don't happy too soon because my daily TC has moved from 8:30pm become 7:30pm due to daylight savings.

This is one of the most demotivating thing happen to me where you were already exhausted the whole day but still need to wait and attend night conference. Sometimes want to meet up with friends or go movie also need to consider few times :(

About 9pm then only go home and bought KFC back to room for dinner. I really need my own private time and some rest. How long do I need to go thru this? Sigh

Tuesday 15 March 2011

There it goes .... my 4D3N vacation :(

Happy moments always flies and it's the day that I need to go back to Singapore. Have a quick check on my emails and it already strike 700+ emails!!!! WTF, I already cleared my mailbox on Sunday morning, before going up to Genting but just 2 days it went to an outrages number of emails ... totally crazy!

Today I suppose to take my coach at BTS because I remembered signing a document by Aeroline stating that their operation will move to BTS from 01-Mar but somehow my gut feelings made me call them up for confirmation. Luckily I called because they have delayed the move until further notice. Phew, luckily I did that otherwise my plan will be screwed. While I was checking in at Hotel Corus, I saw they actually have a special membership with priviledge benefits. Just fill up the form and top up minimum RM200 then it's all yours. With this I can book a trip over the counter, even though the online seating is full :)

The envelop for Aeroline Card
What's in the treasure box  :)
Membership card. I never thought Aeroline already 9 years old
PAP - this is the voucher allow me to book their 'reserved' seat
Top up RM200, given RM10 as bonus
Key benefits of this membership
When I got into the bus, I can smell the 'new car smell' and I started to think if my nose got problem. Once I found my seat, I was so surprise to see everything (Seat, leather, pillow, headset, etc) are very new, even with LCD panel in front of me. At first I thought they might keep it off as well but they actually ACTIVATE it!

WUQ ... So new
LCD panel without joystick :(
Even power plug also new
Since there is LCD panel so the main LCD TV is off

Managed to watch 3 movies and my journey seems very fast this time :)

The movie quality is quite good and you can do other things too like listen to their jukebox, see some interesting and photography for SG and MY places of interest but the game console is unavailable :(

Madagascar 2
Michael Jackson - History

Meal for today just so so, look like leftover again ... sigh, I miss their Chicken Rice Shop ;)

Tomorrow workload should be very high because before I went to bed, I found my mailbox is now reaches 850+ emails ... Wish me luck!

Monday 14 March 2011

Family Genting Trip - Day 2

So fast that our trip almost finishing ... My kids really enjoy staying at hotel and have buffet breakfast, really hope I can bring them more often. We went to Rajawali (Awana's coffee house) to claim our 2 pax complimentary breakfast and bought additional 2 pax with children rate ;) It cost about RM50 but it's consider cheap if you were to have breakfast at top hill.

After the breakfast, we checked out and took cable car to the top because Kai Meng never take the cable car before. Even for Violet, she only had once and that was like 8 years ago ... same goes to Shireen. So I guess this will be a good and refresher ride for them. It seem all of them were a bit frightening at the beginning but later seems stable down ;)

Once reached there, brought the kids to have some fun at the amusement park then take cable car back to the station then drive off to KL. Need to reach KL by 3pm because we will go for movie at 5:15pm. What a tight but interesting arrangement. Went to watch Rango (again for me) and it seems not so interesting for them because it doesn't have much laugh scenes. To me, I like the story line and the way Johnny Depp impersonate the main character, which is Rango itself.

Family Genting Trip - Day 1

The day has arrived, my long waited family trip ... to Genting Highlands (nearest and kids favourites location). Started the journey around 9am, went for breakfast at McD near Wangsa Maju and reach Genting around 11am. Since I can only check in around 2pm so we've decided to play at Theme Park then went down to Awana to check in around 3pm.

As expected, the Q is soooo long and terrible. Instead of locals and S'porean, there a lot of other tourists from India, Japan, Korea and middle east too. Just to play a game will need to wait at least 20 - 40 mins, crazy but we have no choice.

Manage to bring Kai Meng to have his first roller coaster ride :) Just to train him up, I started off with the smaller ride with him (not that Cork Screw) because he's still small and afraid he can't take it. In order to not give him pressure, I keep talking jokes with him and make this ride will be very interesting and funny. When we're on board, I keep talking to him just to distract him and not allowing him to have time to scare himself and thinking too much. The cart started, climbing up the slope and before it went down to the first and highest curve, I hold him so tight and asked him to shout if scare.

Once it went down, I quickly look at him and I saw he's scared and almost burst to tears but I keep asking him to shout and talk something positive to him like "you're so brave", "the curve is over, next time you will not scare" and so forth. After the 2nd/3rd curve, he's ok and getting better. When the ride almost finish, he started to laugh and enjoy ride. Oh man, it really give me a mixed feelings about him. I know he's scared but just act nothing and brave ... kids ;)

Invited for lottery dinner :)

Was told my aunt-in-law strike 4D with grand prize few days ago and she was so kind and generous to buy us dinner. It's not a grand dinner but it's not cheap and located somewhere near Pudu Ulu.

The dish is generally ok but slightly overpriced. The bill cost RM350+ for just 11 pax. It's just few typical Chinese dishes and no shark fin, monk jump over the wall, crab, abalone! Ian boy today is very active and playful. When he heard other kids making noise, he also join the 'party' by raising his voice and pitch too. Manage to catch a short video of his action ;)

During the dinner, I was so shock that Kai Meng actually eat chicken feet and  he likes it soooo much. I'm so curious and puzzled why he likes women food so much :S

He changed so much since my last gathering with him
Taste like Maggi chicken soup with winter melon ;)
He is so enjoying the chicken feet :p
So messy and the chicken feet bone lying around
