About lunch time, we went out from our building and it's still raining but relatively drizzle. This is another pattern that I observed as most of the rain could be just drizzling but can last for hours. Today's menu for lunch is Thai food and my colleagues proposed to try that out. It's just walking distance and near Raffles Place. Small but cozy and I don't see much people eating there.
While browsing the menu, I suddenly spotted the coconut tom yam soup, which look like the one I had in Basel (my favourite) and without second thought I've ordered that. When arrived, it was a deep disappointment as it's totally different. It seems the tom yam based is too little and the coconut milk is too much. I can't really feel tom yam taste but rather coconut sago.
WTF and it's not cheap. The total cost for the lunch is S$135 for 8 pax and eat of us has to pay S$17 for the lunch ... shit ... I could have spend this for 2 days moderate lunch and dinner. So this would be my first and last time there as well. Anyhow, we did enjoy the lunch and had fun with jokes and chats (2 hours lunch) :)
Once back to office, was tensed and busy with work. Initially wanted to leave on the dot and attend the TC at home but by the time I clear up important tasks, it's almost 8pm ... why bother to go home. Might as well finish up other things and take the call from office instead. As today's call seems not too lengthy, I manage to leave office around 9:15pm and my heart just wanted to go home ASAP and take rest. Also, it's not early and most of the stalls were closed except the food court but it's boring. So I've decided to try another fast food today ... which is McD.
I had Big Mac set and the taste is exactly like KL, meaning they have a very good and consistent recipe and food preparation. For now, McD is doing a campaign for Monopoly Singapore where when you order one value meal, you'll get a sticker. Within the sticker, you could win instant present like vouchers, food or tickets otherwise it will be a sticker of the house deed used in monopoly. If you happen to have a set of houses with same colour, then you will get to exchange for a prize where it could be branded watch, dinner at SG flyer, JetStar flight ticket, etc.
As for me, I don't think I will crazy for that as I hardly take fast food during weekdays and this contest end at Dec. When I peeled the sticker ... I've got a instant present !!! It's not pricey but at least I still got some luck left ;)
